Half time is not full time
Have you faced any of these situations –
Waiting for the results after the exams?
Waiting for the recruiter call after the interview?
Waiting for the call from the prospective groom/bride after they have met you?
Waiting for a call from the HR for your performance appraisal?
How do you feel? What do you feel? Is it mostly nerve wrecking stress or some anxiety? Is it mostly that you feel very low or discouraged of what will happen?
It’s ok to feel some stress but if it goes beyond a point – it’s not right.
If it’s making you angry, irritated or affecting your performance – it’s not right.
Chant this mantra, forever in your life – “I don’t deserve to be under pressure”
Human life is a gift, embrace it. This gift is to be enjoyed by giving your hundred percent to everything without feeling overwhelmed. After making full efforts in the required task, we have to just enjoy the show. If you are successful, be joyous. If you are unsuccessful, try again because life is not yet over.
I often see small kids so immersed in their play that they hardly notice – that the outcome of their creativity might not be perfect. They enjoy the whole process and relentlessly pursue their task. It’s because that till we are kids we still believe that “half time is not full time”.
In all those above mentioned situations, your over anxiety was futile before the result but it ensured that you believed that your story is over before it actually ended. Have the faith in your efforts and destiny both.
Looking back, many a times we are actually thankful for not getting something which our heart truly desired at a point. Moreover, we come to know that it was the efforts – which mattered and we should wait for the results without succumbing under pressure. Because remember “half time is not full time”.
